Hana smiles as she sat herself down on the luxurious sofa. The palm of her feet against the cold wooden floor was refreshing. Everything about this house was refreshing to her. The way it made her feel was indescribable, there was a place within her heart that this house and Nichkhun was becoming to fill. “Why are you looking at me like that?” Hana asks, smiling as she sips on the warm cup of tea. Nichkhun brushes away the strands of wet hair from her face, his soft brown eyes gazing into hers intently. He was happy-more than happy. His heart was at peace, it was becoming easier to breathe, and he was suddenly beginning to find life worth living. “I love you,” Nichkhun said as he pressed his lips against Hana’s forehead. “You don’t have to run anymore, because I won’t leave you. I’ll never leave you.” Thump. Thump. Thump. The glass shattered across the wooden floor, startling both of them. Hana pulled away from Nichkhun, a frightened look growing upon her face. She glanced around her. Everything was becoming unfamiliar. It was as if time had stopped, yet her heart was beating, faster and faster. The silence was becoming deafening, the images blur. She was scared. Her heart skipped a beat, once, twice, three times. A void within her was growing, and suddenly she was searching, searching, and searching, yet to no avail. What was she looking for? She looked around once more until she came face to face with a stranger. She blinked back tears as she opened her mouth and asks dryly, “Where is Ok Taecyeon?” “Hana?” he calls out to her, addressing her as Hana. She was racing against time, and she begins to sob. Hurt, she was hurt. It was an indescribable pain, one way beyond her control. She got off of the sofa, her arms wrapped around her, as if to protect her from the unbearable pain. Her voice came out scared, panicked. “Please, please, where is Ok Taecyeon?” “What’s wrong with you?” Nichkhun asks, he stood up and took a step forward. She took two steps back, fear written across her round almond eyes. “Are you oka-Taecyeon?” “Please, please,” She sobs, falling to the ground, clutching her chest, the pain escalating. “I need to see him. Tell me where he is, tell me he’s okay, and tell me he’s safe.” “Hana, calm down,” Nichkhun said. “Jus-” “I’m not Hana!!” She screams. She runs a hand through her hair, and blinked back tears. “Stop calling me Hana! Hana, Hana, Hana, I hate that name! I hate her!” “Are you okay?” Nichkhun asks, slowly trying to take hold of her hand. “Where is Taecyeon?” She jerks her hand away, as if he was a stranger. Her eyes darting back and forth through the room. “Yah, Ok Taecyeon? Taecyeon-ah, where are you?” “Taecyeon is…” Nichkhun started but couldn’t finish. He watches as she pulled herself together, quietly sobbing at his statement as realization settled in. “No, no, no,” she mumbles, rocking herself back and forth, barely catching herself through short breaths. “I have to find him-Ok Taecyeon would never leave me-” Nichkhun crouched down, and held onto her shoulder as she nearly flinches at the feel of his soft touch. He took a deep breath and stared at her brown almond eyes. Never before had he seen so much sadness, so many burdens in those eyes he has come to love so much. It pained him to see her like that, and even more to know that they were for Ok Taecyeon. “Hana, I love you.” Nichkhun softly whispers. He brushes back the loose bangs around her tear stained cheek, holding her face in the frames of his hand . “It’s okay, it’s okay if you still love Taecyeon.” She stares back into those soft brown eyes of his. Everything was so slow, her pulse, the beating of her heart, the rain pelting against the window panes. It was like she was falling into a dream after another, a dream within a dream. She was beginning to lose touch with reality. Her fingers slowly trace along the bridge of his nose, his cheeks, and his forehead. Shocked, she covered her face with both of her hand. The man before her was familiar to her touch, yet she did not know him. Everything was different from Taecyeon, yet so similar. He was like an old dream, an intoxicating dream-something that reminded her about home-about Taecyeon. She was no longer able to diminish between her reality with Ok Taecyeon and this man. Slowly, in the arms of Nichkhun, Hana cried. |
